Usually I post articles about the Fudge RPG, but today I wanted to share the    news about Engine Publishing. Engine Publishing was founded by my friend Martin Ralya who also started the blog Gnome Stew. I am a former contributor to Gnome Stew which is an excellent site dedicated to game masters of all RPG systems. I am also a contributor to Engine Publishing’s first book Eureka: 501 Adventure Plots to Inspire Game Masters.

Meet Zoe

Here is the first NPC I have created for my Day of Fudge game on June 5th at Unique Gifts & Games in Grayslake, IL. Zoe is the lieutenant of the main antagonist in my short adventure titled “Get the Girl”.

What The Hell Happened?

Many weeks ago I ran my game for friends using my new damage system and other changes such as a bidding system to take narrative control with. Long story short: The game fell flat on its face.

A lot of design work, and some vey bad results. Oh well! That is to be expected, and that is why I play tested the system first. No race to publish anything from me. I want to create a quality game.

Review: The Unexplained

I really enjoy a well crafted tale of the paranormal. From a good ghost story to an episode of The X-Files I am impressed when a work of fiction can send shivers down my spine or provoke a sense of paranoia from me.

That is no easy task: I’m an atheist and a skeptic. There are no ghosts, UFOs, bigfoots, psychic powers, or any other forms of supernatural events that you can think of. The supernatural just does not exist. Read More »
