A creature from the folklore of Chile, the Alicanto is a large nocturnal bird found in mountainous regions that devours sliver and gold in various forms. The Alicanto is similar in appearance to a vulture but it is significantly larger, and its peculiar diet has given its feathers and flesh a metallic sheen and its eyes, talons, and a beak appear to be made of solid silver or gold. I have not been nearly as active as I want to be on this blog. Something that you don’t realize about blogs until you have one is that good bloggers dedicate time to write on a regular schedule. I fail at that big time! But since it isn’t how I make my living and so my wife and kids are not starving or homeless I can forgive myself for being
Today I finally had the chance to create a blog on the SinisterForums for the Day of Fudge. You can access the blog here and it is open to anyone to use. I don’t want it to be my blog, I want it to be the Fudge community’s blog for the DoF. I also created some forum boards for the DoF as well which you can access from the forums
What could be better than Fudge? A day of fudge”! And that is what June 6th, 2009 is going to be. Fudge GMs from around the globe are going to run four hour sessions of Fudge that will be open to the public and held in public settings. Libraries, game shops, coffee shops, or any setting that works for the GM. The point is to expose people to the Fudge
Well I finally got a game that I wrote to post on this site. I proudly present:
My goal here was to create an espionage genre game that focusses on how the characters interact, not on action and adventure.
I am not fooling myself into thinking that this game is complete, good, or even playable. For all I know it will flat on its face now that
I’m catching up on my RSS feeds, and I ran across a well done post by Gordon Cooper on his Fudgerylog site. Mr. Cooper makes a case for keeping a separation between Fudge attributes and skills. You can read the entire post here and I encourage you to do so.

Note: When I refer to a trait in a game I tend to capitalize it. I don’t know why. It just helps me to keep things organized in my head while I write.
I have been dealing with a major case of writer’s block with the SinisterForces project. My answer has been to focus on the mechanics part of the game. The result was a spreadsheet that I converted into an
One of my biggest mistakes has been trying to design a game with Fudge. No, I’m not saying that Fudge is a bad choice for designing games with. In fact, Fudge is an excellent choice for designing games with. My mistake is that I jumped right into trying to design the “ULTIMATE RPG!!” gaming geek wet dream of a system.
That just doesn’t exist. Maybe for you, but not for me
I switched to a new hosting service and the site is now so much easier to manage! I’ve been able to add add-ons to the SMF forum software that I use with far less problems (check out the new blogs section). Now that the issues that I was having with the site have been resolved I have been much more focused on the content.
In other words, I have been
Well I switched the forum software to the Simple Machines Forum software and I am much happier with it. I’ve been posting my ideas to boards that I have created solely for this game design. I’m hoping to generate some discussions soon with my ideas, and more importantly to start hearing the ideas of others. Want to get invlolved? Join the forum!
The wiki is still down. My hosting service
