Where Should I Promote Budge?
Quick post for today, because instead of sharing information with you I am asking for your help.
Where on the web should I promote Budge? To be precise, where can I find people willing to give me critical and useful feedback?
Twitter, Facebook, forums, blogs, and other sites frequented by Fudge fans and the fans of RPGs in general are the kinds of things that I am thinking of here. Many of them I have already made an announcement upon, but the more the merrier.
And if you wish to promote Budge yourself please feel free to do so! You have my permission to share the PDF of Budge v1.0 as long as it is not altered in any way (if you do alter it name it something else and just give me credit where credit is due).
The Usual Suspects: RPG.net, Story-Games, and RPGSite.
Also: BoardgameGeek/Geekdo, StumbleUpon, Delicious, etc…
If you go to #Stargazersworld at irc.sorcery.net, a LOT of bloggers may help you out.
I think the best way to promote a system is by play, It hink. Getting people playing it, online and IRL. Run a game over Skype or at a convention and post APs.
If the game is going to be free, then you should post it to http://www.1km1kt.net/ and the forums there. I found the guys great on giving me feedback on Lost Heroes’s Book of the Gods. 🙂
@jlcsusara: Thanks for the suggestions!
@Mark Cunningham: Also thanks for the suggestions!
I’m going to work on getting posts made in all of those places. I have realized though that I really don’t like promoting my own work. Perhaps I can hire a person or service to do it for me that is experienced with RPGs? Something to consider.
