The Girly Geek And Stargazer Get What The DoF Is All About!
Recently I started following The Girly Geek Blog. I started following it because she is participating in the “Day of Fudge”, but I soon realized that this blog has a great quirky style to it that comes from a unique perspective. It is quality stuff, and you should be checking it out.
Recently the Girly Geek posted about her DoF plans that you can read about here. I am not going to go into the details of her DoF event. You can read all about those for yourself.
What I am going to focus on is that the Girly Geek gets it. She understands what the DoF is all about. She has never run Fudge before, and she has invited a bunch of friends to her place that I believe have never played Fudge before to try Fudge. She has created a cool scenario for these people to experience their first Fudge game with, and she is working hard to make her game a great one.
This is the kind of stuff that makes my geek heart swell with pride! Here is a person who has stepped up to the challenge of the DoF, and I cannot wait to hear about how her game session goes.
I am also patiently waiting to hear about how Michael Wolf’s DoF event goes as well (Michael is the Stargazer over at Stargazer’s World). He hasn’t been posting as much about the DoF, but he did recently run his first Fudge game and let me tell you that he gets it too! You can tell just by reading about his first game GMing Fudge.
And yes, you should be reading Stargazer’s World too! It is another blog that is a true celebration of our wonderful hobby.
I wish I ran into a new Girly Geek and a Stargazer once a week to tell about Fudge. These two people are exactly what the Fudge RPG needs (what any RPG needs really), and that is GMs who are willing to step up and run games for others just to have a good time.
Girly Geek and Stargazer – I salute you both! You are both of “Superb” rank when it comes to leading the way for others. Now go forth, and rock this year’s DoF!
If you are running your own DoF event or know someone who is leave a comment below with the details!
Thanks for mentioning my blog here, Patrick. And it’s true I haven’t posted that much about my DoF event yet. The reason is that I planned it to run Fudge at our June rpg pub meeting. But last time we decided to drop the regular meeting in favor of a barbecue with the meeting regulars and I am not sure if there’s an opportunity to run Fudge then. But that doesn’t meen I totally dropped the DoF idea. It will just be delayed by a month or two. I will keep you posted.
@Stargazer: That is cool. You may not hit the date, but you are still running a DoF event and stepping into the role of a Fudge GM. I appreciate that.
Please keep me posted on how your next Fudge game goes!
I would also like to thank you for the shout out. DoF is going to be epic!
Thank you! I’m sorry that your comment did not go up sooner. Apparently WordPress thought that it was spam, and I was a lazy web site admin over the holiday weekend. 🙂
